How do you create AI product photos without changing the product?

Create product image concepts from real references, plan catalog and lifestyle shots, and check packaging, color, geometry, and scale before using them.

Use a real product photograph as the reference, ask for specific scene changes, and compare every output with the source. A prompt can request preservation, but it cannot guarantee unchanged pixels. When exact packaging matters, keep the real product photograph as the authoritative asset.

Product consistency is a practical concern in public creator discussions: people describe labels shifting, colors changing, and bottle shapes drifting between ad shots. These reports motivate careful review; they are not controlled comparisons of tools. See the product-consistency discussion.

A useful product image set contains a clean view, a lifestyle scene, and a detail view. The supplied images cover lifestyle compositions with a creator. They do not supply an isolated packshot or a verified detail photograph, so treat those as additional assets to capture rather than completed examples.

1. Collect the source images

Photograph the actual item in even light against a simple background. Keep the entire product visible and avoid blown-out reflections. Include a close photograph of any label, seam, connector, or texture the customer needs to see accurately.

For a bottle, record the cap style, shoulder shape, color, finish, and proportions. These become your acceptance criteria. If the source hides the label, the generated image cannot reliably recover its exact text.

2. Decide what each image should communicate

  • Image: Clean view · Job: Identify the item · What to preserve: Complete silhouette, packaging, color
  • Image: Lifestyle · Job: Show a plausible setting · What to preserve: Product scale and recognizable design
  • Image: Detail · Job: Explain a visible feature · What to preserve: Actual construction and material

Supplied lifestyle example: useful for context, but the hand covers part of the product. Keep a separate unobstructed product reference.

Supplied light-led variation: compare the bottle's color and lid against the same authoritative product reference. Warm light can change how its finish appears.

Avoid adding a feature merely because it looks attractive. A decorative seam or new lid mechanism can misrepresent the item being sold.

3. Build the clean view

Open Affogato Image. Use Remove BG when you need an isolated cutout and a compatible model is available. Inspect the edges, especially around transparent sections, handles, and fine details.

For a styled background, choose Edit with the source image and try:

Use the supplied product as the reference. Place it upright on an off-white seamless background with a soft contact shadow. Preserve its shape, proportions, color, closure, and label. No added text, props, or duplicate products.

A background-removal result and a generatively edited result are different deliverables. Inspect both instead of assuming the product region remained unchanged.

4. Make one lifestyle scene

Return to the original product reference, then request a plausible context:

Place the referenced bottle beside the seated creator in a room with bamboo blinds, sheer curtains, and colorful cushions. Warm window light, realistic scale, clear separation from the background. Preserve the product design. Keep the bottle unobstructed and believably supported. Preserve the supplied creator identity. No added branding.

Generate one candidate first. A seated scene with one creator gives you fewer interactions to review than a busy scene. Soft bedding makes product support especially important to inspect.

5. Handle detail images conservatively

Prefer a crop or a real close-up for factual construction details. If you generate a detail concept, compare it with the actual product and reject invented features. Upscaling can improve presentation, but it does not verify a material or recover facts absent from the input.

6. Review the set before export

Compare all three images with the physical item or original photos. Check label spelling, cap shape, relative size, color, and the number of components. Then review the set together for consistent lighting and cropping.

Name approved files by role: bottle-clean, bottle-lifestyle, and bottle-detail. Keep the source photographs in a separate folder so they remain easy to identify.

Stop regenerating the logo from text. Use an authentic product photograph or a compositing workflow that preserves the product region, and reserve AI for the surrounding scene. A visually plausible label is not an accurate label.

Can these images replace every product photograph?

Use generated images for the roles they can satisfy accurately. Real images remain valuable for dimensions, material details, and features a customer will inspect closely.

Next step: prepare one clean image in Affogato, then use the product-to-video tutorial for a short motion asset.
